Biography:

Hello, my name is Sinéad (pronounced “Sha-nade”). I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, a Board-Certified Herbalist through the NCCAOM, and a practitioner with advanced specialization in microneedling, facial acupuncture, anti-aging light therapies, and Chinese Face Reading.

I have completed extensive post-graduate training in cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation under the mentorship of several leading authorities in this emerging and exciting branch of holistic health.

My clinical focus on holistic aesthetic medicine is rooted in both personal experience and professional study. A prior fixation on external appearance ultimately led me to explore the deeper relationship between emotional well-being, internal organ health, and outward expression. In Chinese medicine, the face is regarded as a reflection of internal physiological function. When the body is in balance, it naturally manifests in healthy skin and a vibrant complexion. Likewise, supporting a patient's confidence in their appearance can positively impact overall health and organ harmony.

The integration of classical Eastern medicine with modern facial rejuvenation techniques has been an incredibly rewarding and meaningful part my career. I am honored to bring these evidence-based, holistic tools for beauty and health to the Triangle Area to help you achieve both aesthetic and systemic wellness!

Training and Experience

I completed my doctorate at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, CA, and received a BA in Preventative Medicine from UNC-Chapel Hill.

I have an extensive background and ongoing advanced training in facial rejuvenation therapies and cosmetic acupuncture, having studied under the mentorship of several leading experts in the field, including Michelle Gellis, LAc, MS, Lillian Pearl Bridges, and Josh Nerenberg, LAc, MSTOM.

I have studied yoga in India, Hong Kong, Europe, San Francisco, and North Carolina, and have been certified in yoga since 2009, teaching three different styles (Hatha, Kundalini, and Restorative/Yin).

I have been practicing qigong (pronounced “chee gong”) since 2010 and teaching since 2016. My teachers include Master Mantak Chia, Minke DeVos, Michael Winn, Dr. LiPing Zhu, ShiFu Zhang Mei, and Robert Peng.

I am a practitioner of WuShu.  This eclectic martial art integrates concepts and forms from various traditional and modern Chinese martial arts, including Shaolin kung fu, tai chi, and Wudangquan.

In addition, I have been dancing since I can remember.  I have studied and continue to learn various forms of dancing and movement.
