The Aggregate Nutrient Density Index (ANDI) shows the nutrient density of foods on a
scale from 1-1000. This number is generated by comparing a wide variety of factors
including micronutrients, fiber, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and antioxidant
quantities. The higher the number the higher the nutritional value.

So much food today is high in calories but very low in nutrients. As a result, so many
people are obese and over fed, yet at the same time, nutritionally starving. By eating
foods higher on the ANDI you are providing your body with the nutrition it needs to combat
disease, protect your immune system, and keep you healthy. Likewise, by eating food
lower on the ANDI people are packing on the pounds, while at the same time, depriving
them selves of the basic nutritional needs required stay healthy. It is no wonder that so
many people are overweight and sick.
